On The Set with Hot On!, Natalie Woods & Ron Corning

Home Shopper Magazine recently spent time with Natalie Woods and Ron Corning, while they were shooting new Hot On! Homes TV show content at the beautiful Grand Homes model home in the Lake Forest Community in McKinney, Texas. The two-day shoot, led by Hot On! Homes VP of Production, Jarrod Oram, covered topics such as how to handle a counteroffer from the builder, registering with a builder, how to build your home on paper, foreclosures, and the many different types of homesites available to home shoppers today.

“The mission of Hot On! has always been to bring informative and entertaining content to local home shoppers who have grown to trust Hot On! Homes since the first broadcast nearly 20 years ago, and this year is no different- except we’ve got Ron Corning joining Natalie on set!” said producer Oram. “We’ve tried a few different things over the years, but Hot On! has always been about local new homes and communities, and now we’re going back to our roots, shooting in model homes and local new home neighborhoods. These are stunning homes and provide great locations for the show.”

“Another transition we recently made was bringing in long-time news anchor Ron Corning into the Hot On! family as the co-host of the show. Natalie Woods has been an amazing host for years, and now, with Ron, they bring an informative, fun, off-the-cuff dynamic that is very exciting and fresh for our viewers,” explained Oram.

Between takes, Natalie Woods, the popular host of the long-running show, had a little time to reflect on her tenure with Hot On, “I’ve had a front-row seat with Hot On! since I joined the show. It’s been fun to see it grow and adapt to the changing needs of home shoppers. Technology may have changed the ways people shop for new homes, but they still need a lot of information. We’ve always tried to deliver that information in fun and exciting ways, using whatever technology was available.”

“I moved here as an apartment dweller,” added new co-host, Ron Corning, “and watched the show, and sort of passively, without even realizing it, Hot On! became a brand that I just knew. After catching a couple episodes, it was clear that this has to be the place where people go to figure out what’s really out there on the new home landscape, and I wasn’t wrong.”

He continued, “Since joining this show, a number of people have stopped me on the street or in restaurants and said ‘We watched Hot On! when we first moved to Texas so we could figure out where to live’ or ‘we’ve recommended it to friends who are looking for a home.” Then, he added with a smile, “I love it and working with Natalie is a blast!”

Corning joins the Hot On! team after a long tenure at the Dallas ABC affiliate, WFAA, where he was the host of the morning show, “Daybreak.”

“Ron certainly adds a different dynamic and energy to Hot On! You’re always concerned about adding a new element to a formula that really works, but the Natalie and Ron combination has been good for everyone. The show now has an informal spontaneity, and they get along like they’ve been doing this for years together,” added Oram.

Look for the new segments to start debut in the Hot On! Homes show in December 2019.
